I hate to state the obvious, but pricing a service is very different from pricing a product. Since there are numerous variables to consider, each project is unique and, therefore, priced accordingly.

Having said that, you deserve a direct answer. You can expect to pay me about what you would pay for many other professional services, such as a webmaster, copywriter, or graphic designer.

The ballpark is between $25 and $200 an hour (from proofreading to a complete rewrite). I’m not made of stone and neither are my rates.

The simple, and most expedient, thing to do is contact me for a quote as soon as possible.

Rest assured, you won’t be added to any kind of (obnoxious) mailing list.

Please remember that I’m extremely flexible. I want to be your go-to editor, now and in the future. I will, most definitely, work with you. As a business professional yourself, you understand the importance of repeat business. It is much more difficult attaining new clients than retaining existing ones. I will bend over backward to exceed your expectations, from fair pricing to on-time delivery to the exceptional quality of my work.

I work with companies with all types of budgets (from $100 to $100k), and provide them with as much bang for their buck as is humanly possible. Hey, I’m a classic overachiever perfectionist, so you can count on me going above and beyond our contract.

It’s a long list, but in all honestly, I’ve worked in (or for) most of them.

I’ve written and edited for everything from high-tech to medical to real estate to floor coverings to interior design to parenting to psychology to education to television to radio to a guy with discount entertainment coupons, to name a few.

Okay, we’ve established that I’m pretty versatile as a writer and editor, and I’m not afraid of challenges. If you don’t see your industry listed, give me a chance to prove myself to you.

A professional editor and wordsmith (like me) can handle most any project. I’m an adept researcher and welcome the challenge of adapting to the style and “voice” of your particular industry.

The company size is totally irrelevant to me since I work one-on-one with your contact person, committee, team, or department.

Essentially, rush jobs are considered “special projects.” Yes, there will be an additional fee, but I promise to make it a reasonable up-charge. If you need something immediately and it’s a small project and I’m not back-logged, then you can expect a very small rush fee.

Every situation is different. My advice? If you’re already late on a project, shoot me an email immediately and I will quickly provide you with a final quote and delivery date.

Absolutely yes! I’m maniacal when it comes to job assignments. I’ve been known to go way beyond burning the midnight oil. I’ve seen the sun rise more times than I care to remember.

Ignore the rumors that I’m a vampire. Night owl, yes, but I’m not fond of bats (or blood).

I’m a one-woman editing / writing machine. I pride myself on the fact that I’m completely hands-on. No one else has my unique experience and skillset. Not to brag, but I’ve been editing and writing since I was able to hold a crayon. Mom said I was born to it; my teachers concurred. Not only do I adore what I do, but I’m adamant about not outsourcing projects to third world countries.

I love throwing myself into each and every project. If I need to research your industry, business, product, competition, and/or customers, then I will do so gleefully.

In all honesty, it’s better that I’m not an expert in your field. I review and edit your material from the standpoint of your target audience. I need to wear their shoes and determine if what you’re trying to say is coherent, clear, and concise. If it isn’t, then I clean it up for you.

Ah, I’m so glad you asked that question. When necessary, I slip on my professional writer’s hat and rewrite as much or as little as required. This is the main benefit of hiring this write editor.

Of course, I will work closely with you and will expect feedback on the revised copy. No matter what the situation, I strive for a symbiotic relationship with you. One in which everyone wins.

For first-time clients, I require prepayment in full. After we’ve established a relationship,  I collect 50% of the estimated total (or a retainer, if ongoing) as a deposit. For ease of payment, I use PayPal. Let’s talk!

For established clients and/or corporate accounts, I’m more than happy to set up a retainer account.

We would agree to a specific number of hours per month, at an agreed-upon rate, and I would be your on-call editor. Of course, this type of account would qualify for a substantial discount and would require a six-month commitment from all parties.

My retainer accounts receive priority treatment and those projects go to the “head of the line.” Contact me if you’re interested in this type of arrangement.

Since no one has ever considered me “cheap,” I have to say no.

Seriously, there is always someone willing to undercut price. As a business person, you know this only too well. Cheaper rarely means better, it usually just means “cheaper.”

I charge a professional, competitive (yet reasonable) rate for what is, quite simply, the best editing / writing service you might find (she said humbly!). Dare I say, “I’m worth every cent?”

Guess I just did.

Most projects take anywhere from one to three weeks to complete. Naturally, this all depends on the size of the project, the amount of editing required, the deadline, and numerous other factors.

If I’m editing a huge website, then a month (or more) may be required. On the other hand, a small editing job, such as a blog post, email, or business letter, might only take a few hours.

The best way to get a definitive answer is to contact me immediately.

For the most part, not really. If the project is legal, I’m your go-to editor. However, I won’t touch anything that promotes hate or discrimination. And, I won’t edit or rewrite materials that are obvious “scams.”

Now there’s a “loaded” question. I wish I could say I work the normal, 8-5, 5 days-a-week type schedule, but all self-employed entrepreneurs know that would be a blatant lie.

As previously stated, I’m a night-owl and am thrilled that I don’t have to punch a time-clock or report to anyone. I work fiendishly on all projects; whatever it takes to complete something AHEAD of schedule. That’s always my goal.

I may not answer the phone on a Friday or Saturday night, but just try to stop me from answering my emails day or night (not a pretty sight).

Clearly, I never say never. I’m open to all offers, but my preference is to continue what I’m doing.
